Lenten Reflections Invited – “We lay down our arms so we can reach out our arms to one another.”
In her inaugural poem, “The Hill We Climb,” National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gordon wrote – “And so we lift our gazes not to what stands between us, but what stands before us. We close the divide, because we know to put our future first, we must first put our differences aside. We lay down our arms so we can reach out our arms to one another. We seek to harm none and harmony for all.”
For Lenten reflections to be shared with the congregation please send your responses to the following questions to Pastor Jim at jim@labcoakland.org.
How do the words of the poet speak to you? What “arms” do you feel led to lay down? In what ways do you feel led to reach out your arms to others?
The communications task force of the long range planning committee would like to have your input as we work to redesign the church website. Please complete this survey. Your input will be of great value as we continue our work.
If you would like an LABC (contains proposed 2021 budget) or OFBC Annual Report please let me know. The LABC report should be ready to send as a PDF by Friday.
