April 13, 2021

From Moina Shaiq, resident of Alameda County and much respected Muslim leader – (Ramadan 2021 began on the evening of April 12 and ends on the evening of May 12)

Ramadan Mubarak.

I want to send warmest wishes to all the Muslims of Ramadan Mubarak!
Ramadan is the holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal for Muslims worldwide, and is the 9th month of the Muslim calendar year. This month is observed with fasting, increased prayer, and faithful intention.

This holy time is also spent focusing on charitable work, increased time in spiritual worship, and donating money to feed those in need. Muslims contribute greatly to charitable organizations that help people from all faiths in the United States and around the world by providing medical assistance, family services, scholastic supplies, feeding the hungry, and providing essential services.

Bay Area Muslims are a part of the fabric of our community that are recognized for their contributions, rich cultural heritage, and wide diversity that they bring. This Ramadan, the Bay Area Muslim community reminds us that our freedom to worship benefits us all and should be celebrated.

In this challenging time of uncertainty, let us come together and recognize that faith, good deeds, and diversity in worship is a beautiful thing, and support one another.

Ramadan Mubarak!

An analysis of the shooting of Daunte Wright by the Brooklyn Park, MN police from Deacon Reggie Lyles of Allen Temple Baptist Church. Reggie is a retired police captain and a graduate of the Berkeley School of Theology.

Officer Kim Potter, of    Brooklyn Center PD, a 26 year veteran, a Field Training Officer, is a murderer! There is NO acceptable reason for killing a 20 year old man over having too many air fresheners. Officer Kim Potter suffered from implicit bias, she is a benign racist, whose racism may have been hidden or asymptomatic, until this fatal day. Her disgust of NOT being obeyed by an African American male created her narrow, and deadly deductive reasoning, which results in the death of another African American male . . . “Eliminate all of the brutes.” Kim Potter’s racist deductive reasoning impaired her ability to see that she was pointing her weapon and not a much lighter (in weight), bright yellow taser. She could not determine the feel of her sidearm. Her narrow bias and anger contributed to her deciding this black man must be shot. She knew what she was doing. I know it is difficult to conceive. If you cannot conceive of this you are a part of the problem.

Police Immunity must be rescinded! Why? Because apparently Law Enforcement cannot discipline and manage itself.
