Family,
Allow me to share my Facebook post from this past Sunday morning.
Deuteronomy 26:7 We cried out for help to the Lord, the God of our ancestors. He heard us and saw our suffering, hardship, and misery.
God of Love, there are many crying for help today. On my mind are the people of Haiti, Afghanistan and Burma. As of old, hear the prayers of your people.
A longtime friend replied saying that all those fighting the California wilfires, as well as all those devastated by them, needed to be remembered. She was, of course, correct. And, it almost goes without saying, that there are many other desperate situations which could be added to the list.
We are living in desperate times. Pain abounds. Our faith remains that the Creator of All hears the cries of the created.
Lord, listen to your people praying,
Pastor Jim
