The First Weekend of June

Hi All,
I returned very early Friday morning from Duluth, MN  Where I led the interment service for Joan Thatcher at her family’s gravesite in the very beautiful Forest Hill Cemetery in the hills above Lake Superior. Her brother, sister-in-law and niece from the Minneapolis area were able to attend.
I want to make sure that you know you are invited to attend a concert by the renowned soloist Mary Callahan Saturday evening at 6:00 in the Sanctuary. There is a discounted price of  $5 for LABC members. Mary is a friend of Sandra Lee. Charlene Wolf tells me she is an outstanding performer. Sandra will provide a light reception following the concert. Sandra is trying to get an idea of how much food is needed so please let her know if you will be attending.
Sunday promises to be a good and full day. A good way to begin will be a time of prayer and reflection led by Cynthia Nelson in the Library from 9:00 – 9:30. Cynthia has devoted significant energy to the study and practice of the contemplative tradition in Christianity. I find this “Quiet Time” ahead of the work of the day to be most helpful.
