Thank you for supporting Palestinian children!

Team Lakeshore 2023!

Dear Lakeshore,

Thank you to all who donated to, offered prayers for, or participated in last Sunday’s Ride for Palestine. Together we rode 67 miles and raised $2,645.22 for Palestinian children! The star of our team was Zidane – riding the full 11-mile trek!

In the midst of all the violence taking place in Palestine: the bombings of Gaza in May, the multitude of violent settler attacks in the West Bank in June, and Israel’s brutal attacks on the Jenin Refugee Camp (home to generations of displaced Palestinians) most recently, it meant so much to join in solidarity with the Middle East Children’s Alliance community and support their work with Palestinian children throughout the area.

The realities of so many continue to be dire, and yet we can always find ways of offer a little love, shine a little light, and join together with communities working for a better world.

I invite you to join me at this Sunday’s Forum (following worship in the sanctuary) to continue our discussions and discernment of becoming an Apartheid-Free Congregation.
