Dolores Huerta, Floricel Ramos and Pastor Allison, advocating for immigrant rights in Sacramento

Dear Lakeshore,

Floricel Ramos, a friend, advocacy partner, and faith leader with Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity needs our help. Floricel is at risk of being deported – ripped away from her children, her community, and her life. Like so many of us, at a rough time in Floricel’s life, she made some bad decisions that she regrets. Like so many of us, Floricel has taken responsibility for her mistakes and has used her experiences to help others in difficult situations. However, unlike us, she faces deportation for the mistakes of her past. Unlike us, our government has the to power to separate her from the community she blesses, the family she cares for, and the leadership and love she provides for so many. Her situation isn’t fair, and I hope you will join me in demanding she be able to stay in this country where she has created her life. You can read more about Floricel’s situation here.

We can help keep Floricel by contacting Senator Butler and emailing Edwin Sevilla (Director of Constituent Services and Kobe Dumas (Judiciary Aid on Immigration) to stop her deportation. Please take a moment to support Floricel today!

Peace,

Pastor Allison

Subject: Urgent Support Needed to Stop Deportation

Dear Edwin and Kobe,

My name is ____ and I live in ____. I am a member of Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church, a church who believes in the dignity of all people, the power of forgiveness, and the importance of community.

I’m writing on behalf of your constituent, Floricel Liborio Ramos. Floricel is a community leader and mother of 3 U.S. citizens who is facing deportation to Mexico. Last December, Floricel and her attorney met with your office seeking your support to stop her deportation. They have yet to hear back and Floricel is anxiously awaiting for your response.

A letter from the Senator requesting ICE give Floricel’s prosecutorial discretion request full and fair consideration is urgently needed. We ask ICE that in considering her request they take into account current priorities consistent with the Mayorkas and Doyle memos.

Sincerely,

[your name]
