Family,

A good and full day awaits us today as we gather for the first Sunday of African American History Month under the theme “Uniting in Love and Justice.”

Worship (In-person, Zoom and YouTube), which includes a service of Communion, is at 10:00. My sermon will be “None of Us Are Free Until All of Us Are Free: The Message of Fannie Lou Hamer.” The central scripture will be Exodus 5: 1-22.

At 11:45 Pastor Tanner will lead another of the Public Witness Forums (Zoom only). She will interview Pastor Naw San of the San Francisco Kachin Baptist Church. They will discuss ways in which we can unite in love and justice with the people of Burma. Allison recommends reading this article in advance of the forum.

Bible Study (In-person, Zoom) led by Pastor Matthews will follow the Forum. The lesson will be “Grace Gifts: Work Together” based on 1 Corinthians 15: 1-11.

The Fireside Chat on Ukraine, led by Dr. Monica Eppinger will be on Zoom at 6:00 PM. Monica will call on her wealth of expertise to help us better understand the current crisis in Ukraine in the hope that we can better unite in love and justice.

I look forward to connecting. Prayers for today.

Pastor Jim
