The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.Psalm 33:5, NIV
This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.John 15:12, NASB
The texts above are the scriptures that accompany our theme for the upcoming church year: “Uniting through Love and Justice.” The Education Ministry Department has continued its work even as we shelter in place. During this time we have had an opportunity to look at the various areas of responsibility of the Department and develop, along with the theme for the coming church year, a mission statement for the Department: Create experiences to help people grow in relationship with Jesus and each other.
Lakeshore is a congregation that is already involved in the larger community – almost all these ministries still continue to take place. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the church retreat, but we were able to provide a virtual Vacation Bible Camp experience for elementary age children. Going forward, we will be seeking ways to make available service opportunities for our children and youth.
As we move to the end of the year, I want to remind you of the groups that continue to meet via ZOOM. These meetings allow us to connect, spend time in bible study and prayer, discuss the current state of life, and remind us that although apart, we are still a family of faith.
