The texts above are the scriptures that accompany our theme for the upcoming church year: “Uniting through Love and Justice.” The Education Ministry Department has continued its work even as we shelter in place. During this time we have had an opportunity to look at the various areas of responsibility of the Department and develop, along with the theme for the coming church year, a mission statement for the Department: Create experiences to help people grow in relationship with Jesus and each other.
Lakeshore is a congregation that is already involved in the larger community – almost all these ministries still continue to take place. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the church retreat, but we were able to provide a virtual Vacation Bible Camp experience for elementary age children. Going forward, we will be seeking ways to make available service opportunities for our children and youth.
As we move to the end of the year, I want to remind you of the groups that continue to meet via ZOOM. These meetings allow us to connect, spend time in bible study and prayer, discuss the current state of life, and remind us that although apart, we are still a family of faith.
Sunday at 11:45 AM – Adult Bible Study
Monday at 7:00 PM – Youth Group Meeting
Tuesday at 6:00 PM – No Soup, But Study
Wednesday at 10:30 AM – Bible Study and Prayer
Thursday at 6:00 PM – Together in Spirit (currently studying the book of Esther)
Saturday at 10:00 AM – Time for Prayer
The LABC reading group meets on the last Saturday of the month at 9:00 AM (October 31, Where the Crawdads Sing, Delia Owens
We invite you to take the opportunity to join in on one of the ongoing times of fellow-ship in a small group setting.
