Dear Lakeshore,

20 years ago this day, you ordained me to the ministry of the Gospel. I give thanks today for the ways in which you have nurtured me, allowed me to lead you, and encouraged God’s Spirit to flow through us as a congregation. From sharing stories with children to taking teens on adventures to encouraging young adults to thrive; from preaching sermons to leading worship to providing opportunities for Christian formation and ways to engage in public witness, I am deeply grateful for how we have learned and grown and embodied Christ’s church together.

If Coffee Hours were taking place after worship, I would host one in honor of all we have accomplished together. Short of that, let me simply say “thank you” – for believing in me, encouraging me and empowering me to grow as your pastor and friend. Voices of Lakeshore, I still hear your blessing of my ministry every time I sing “Lead Me, Guide Me.”

Lakeshore community, as we sang together so long ago, these words remain true:

God of rainbow, fiery pillar, leading where the eagles soar, We your people, ours the Journey, now and ever more.

The journey continues, as we continue to work, worship and witness together.

Much love,

Pastor Allison
