Reflection and Updates
Appreciating the Abundant Life
Earlier this month in my sermon I talked about taking time to appreciate what brings us joy in life. In light of that I called on some folks for help so I could go see my granddaughters this past Sunday. In talking with my daughter I realized I needed to take the time when it was possible especially with the holiday events coming soon. We all had a delightful time together.
In John 10:9-10 (NASB) we find these words of Jesus: “I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly.” Sometimes it is on us to take advantage of and appreciate the “abundant life” with which God blesses us. (At the end of this email an event announcement about an activity that brings me joy that I want to share with the LABC community)
Special Upcoming Events and Meetings
These last few weeks of the year are an especially busy time for the Lakeshore community. Planning for 2023 is taking place, working on the budget, and electing members to the department and committees. The pledge letter, pledge card, and the time and talent survey will be coming your way soon. Again, we ask that you prayerfully consider each, as well as the invitations from the nominating committee to participate in the mission and ministry of LABC. If you have questions please reach out to ministerial staff and/or members to find answers. Pledge Sunday and Annual Meeting, Sunday, November 20.
