Midweek Message
Presidents Day Message
Family,
It is a beautiful February day in the Bay Area. I trust that you are enjoying it. A couple of notes for the week ahead:
- Beginning on Tuesday evening February 18th, Pastor Tanner will lead the a Public Witness themed Bible Study at Soup and Study every third Tuesday. Tomorrow night her focus will be on Micah 6:8, God has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (NIV) This verse is at the heart of the LABC mission statement.
- Our preacher on Sunday will be the Reverend Demitirus Burnett. I serve on the Interfaith Council of Alameda County board with Demitrius and I have been looking for an opportunity to have him preach at Lakeshore as he is one of our nation’s most outstanding young preachers. The author of the new book “Sermons Will Ruin Your Life: A Collection of Poetry and Prose,” his sermon on Sunday will be “When You Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired.”
- We conclude our celebration on African-American History Month on Sunday with Hat Sunday and our Soul Food Dinner. I trust that you will be able to join us for both.
