Pardon Campaign for Phoeun You
Lakeshore’s Sanctuary Working Group invites you to support Phoeun You, a Cambodian genocide survivor and refugee who was recently deported to Cambodia, a country he hasn’t been to since he was four. Phoeun is a “trained facilitator in trauma healing work with survivors of crime and offenders” and recently appeared in an op-ed of the San Francisco Chronicle. Phoeun continues to seek a pardon from Gavin Newsom so he can return to his loved ones and home in California. You can read Phoeun’s story and support his pardon campaign at bit.ly/ProtectPhoeun – or simply follow the directions below.
Please help us live out our commitment to immigrant justice and keeping families together by supporting Phoeun.

“My name is ____ and I represent ____ (organization, or city/county where you live). I am calling in strong support of Phoeun You (Poon You) CDCR# K30232 / A#-023884337, a Cambodian refugee and genocide survivor. On August 16, Phoeun was deported to Cambodia, a country he escaped as a young child. Phoeun was recommended for early release by the Board of Parole Hearings in recognition of his service and leadership inside. Phoeun is a highly regarded leader and community member. I reaffirm the board of parole hearings decision that Phoeun is not a public safety threat. I urge Gov. Newsom to pardon Phoeun immediately so that he can come home to his loved ones and community. His only family and support system is living in the United States.”
