Pentecost Greetings!
May the Spirit of God continue to breath new life into us – and may we continue to celebrate the presence of the Spirit in our lives and our communities!
This coming Sunday we will explore the spiritual practice of service. Our Scripture will be Luke 10:25-37, the parable of the Good Samaritan. Despite how familar this story is, it continues to raise the perplexing question, “Who is my neighbor?” It is in answering this question again and again that we continue to examine the role of service in our lives and to take seriously Jesus’ command to “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
This coming Sunday is also Lakeshore’s 30th Annual Hunger Walk, an opportunity for us to put into practice acts of service. If you are planning to walk, gather on the church steps following worship. Feel free to wear turquoise t-shirts and tennis shoes to church! I look forward to worshiping and walking, celebrating and serving with you on Sunday.
Peace,
Allison
