LABC Update – Wednesday, September 28, 2022
Family,
Sadly, last week I was once again called on to draft a statement in response to another day of multiple murders in Oakland. I share the statement with you, not because it is particularly well-written or insightful, but as a reminder to us all (myself included) that we can never stop speaking to the pain that surrounds us. If we stop responding to the pain it is a sign that the ways of the world are defeating us, a sign that, for us, the ways of God have grown dim.
