A Plea From Declan Brown and Family

Please share to help Josh get a liver transplant!  After 3.5 years of keeping a positive attitude, working hard, following doctor’s orders and receiving improving lab results, my son Josh has just been told that he needs a liver transplant.  If you’ve met Josh, I think you’ll agree that he is one of the kindest, most generous and caring people you know.

If you can find it in your heart to help Josh get a second chance at life, please reach out.  The living donor would give Josh a portion of their liver (which regenerates quickly) and will be under the age of 55, less than 220 lbs, preferably taller than 5’9″ and in generally good health.  Costs will be covered and most donors heal within a week.  Josh is blood type O+.  There is a link for more information but if you or your loved ones are not candidates for this precious gift, please share this post in emails, social media or word of mouth with your friends, family, co-workers, churches, clubs, etc.  Our family will be eternally grateful, including this mom whose heart is breaking.

If you don’t know his story, in September 2020 at the age of 31, Josh was diagnosed with a failing liver and we were told that IF he survived the weekend, he had a 35% chance of being alive in 3 months.  Josh beat those odds but just two years later, he had a massive stroke (AVM) and underwent a craniotomy to save his life again.  Even though he is still partially paralyzed on his left side, with his fiancee Megan (and their dogs Sprocket and Duke) by his side, Josh has remained determined and upbeat through all of this.

You can direct any and all questions to Amy Felt: IMEDliverdonor@imail.org.
Forever grateful,
Dale, Declan and family
