LABC Update – Wednesday, February 7, 2024

Family,

Greetings on this last day of the first week of African American History Month 2024.

Dr. Gina Jacobs-Strain recently began her work as the General Secretary (leader of the denomination/head of communion) of the American Baptist Churches, the first African-American and the first woman to be called to this position. Below is an interview with her in which she shares her vision for our tradition.

Thinking about who’s going to lead the church in 30 or 40 years, these are the children that are now students at Sunday school. And if they’re not in church now, as young people, we can’t expect them to come back. Dr. Gina Jacobs-Strain
