LABC Update – Tuesday, May 30, 2023

People who study such things, sociologists for instance, tell us that it is of great benefit to our well-being if we have “third spaces” in our lives. Third spaces are spaces other than home and work where we connect and interact in healthy ways with a diverse group of people.

Churches have many roles to play, one of them is to be a third space where people find community and reach beyond themselves. As colleague Curtis Ramsey-Lucas points out in the linked article, the US Surgeon General recently diagnosed our society as experiencing an epidemic of loneliness. We have work to do.
