LABC Update – Tuesday, March 7
March 5, 2023
The Second of the Lenten “Meet Your Faith Community Neighbors” series will be tomorrow night, March 8, at St. John Episcopal Church in Montclair. (1707 Gouldin Rd, off of Thornhill.) If you are able to attend, I am sure you will be glad you did. Please RSVP with me.
Below are are couple of emails that were sent following last Wednesday night’s gathering.
First of all Holly, I want to thank you and the Saint Paul Community for hosting the first of the Lenten Interfaith Gatherings. The hospitality was great. Your presentation was excellent and made it easy for us to engage with one another.
I was surprised at the large number of people who attended the service. Ross and I did a quick head count, there were about 100 folks present! Like Scott, I too will need to have a estimate of how many people from each of our congregations plan to attend upcoming gatherings.
I can’t think of a better way for us to start the Season of Lent. Jim and I were talking afterwards and agreed that this is hopefully the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
Leo (Fr. Leo Edgerly, Corpus Christi Church)
I second that motion. What fun and what a great turn out!
Do we have a count of how many folks attended? I am asking for my own sake. I want to make sure we have enough tables, hors d’Oeuvres and yes wine. Given that we have the first one behind us, I would really appreciate it if each of you could give me an updated estimate of how many you would expect to attend from your congregation. This would be much appreciated!
Should lent be this fun?
Scott (Rev. Scott Denman, Rector, St. John’s Episcopal Church)
