John Claassen, Beverly Jeffery, Jim Jeffery, Lari Wilkinson, Kristen Wilson and Pastor Jim with be representing LABC and Faith In Action East Bay at PICO California’s statewide “Home Is Sacred Day of Action” in Sacramento today. Almost 1,000 leaders from congregations all over California will gather to lift a moral voice for housing justice.
Today, the PICO California network gathers in Sacramento for our Home is Sacred Day of Action!
Hundreds of people of faith from across the state will convene to advocate for legislation that provides relief to renters and combats the housing crisis.
In the words of our friend Rev. Dr. George C.L. Cummings of Faith in Action East Bay, “The current housing crisis in California, where houselessness is at epic levels, and the lack of affordable housing for low-income people is a direct contradiction of the moral values that are basic to our convictions.
The housing crisis, in conjunction with racial and economic inequity, challenges our commitments to these values and is a call to action in organizing to create change and establish the conditions that empower families and communities to thrive and prosper together.”
It is our moral convictions that drive our need to stand up and change the status quo. We believe that housing is a human right, and on April 20th our voices will be heard. We are ready!

Pastor Carolyn will lead Together In Spirit tonight at 6:00.
