LABC Update – Saturday, March 26, 2022
Family,
Before March gets away, I need to note that our Lakeshore Children’s Center opened fifty years ago this month, March 1, 1972. It is heartening to think of all the children and families that have been served by our center. In a spiritual atmosphere of loving concern, utilizing a play-based philosophy of learning, many households have been ministered to.
The COVID-19 era has been a particularly difficult era for childcare providers, Our center has not been an exception to this reality. We are still finding our way back to a sustainable level of enrollment, income, programming and staffing. The future holds questions as well as promise.
I am very pleased to announce that Eva Hadley has agreed to lead a reinvigorated Lakeshore Children’s Center Advisory Board. Other members of the board are Carol Pancho-Ash, Yvonne Crosby-Young, and Paige Bence. We need to add parent/community members to the board.
I don my reading hat and read to my LCC “neighbors” at least once a month. The picture below was taken on Thursday when they visited my office for story time for the first time in over two years.
Hope to see you in worship (In-person, YouTube, Zoom) tomorrow at 10:00. There will be an outdoor Coffee Hour following worship.
