The Memorial Service for Rod Murray will be at LABC this afternoon at 1:00. If you are unable to attend in person you can connect via YouTube.

In the service we will celebrate Rod’s love of the natural world and the way it fed his faith. This poem, which he wrote about Redwood Glen in 2011, is representative of his love of creation’s grandeur.

A Splendid Paradise

There is a forested valley called

Redwood Glen that is one step short

of the Garden of Eden;

It is here God whispers his message of

Peace through the wind that rustles

the towering tree tops;

It is here God touches us with his love

thru’’ the morning fog that descends

on all living things;

It is here God sings for us his hymn of

faith through the bird calls that echo

across the valley;

It is here God shouts to us his pure joy

thru’’ the radiance of morning sun

that paints all of the land.

Surely, Redwood Glen is one step short of God’s splendid paradise, for it is here you will enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of Eden.

Do not miss it!

Your ongoing support of the ministry of our church is greatly appreciated. We are checking the mail so feel free to mail your check or to contribute online.

Tomorrow is Communion Sunday and the first Sunday of Women’s History Month. Hope to see you at LABC!

March Transmitter – We were not able to print mailing labels for the Transmitter this past week.  We are thus asking that you pick your print copy up when you are next at church. When I told my Beloved about this her response was, “Shouldn’t everyone just receive it electronically?” I know there are exceptions, but it is also difficult to refute her logic. Please sign up to receive it via email.
