LABC Update – Saturday, June 3, 2023

Family,

I certainly hope you will be able to join us in worship tomorrow at LABC. The H. James Hopkins “Go Be Jesus” Award, originally established on my 30th anniversary as your pastor, will be presented for the first time, communion will be observed and in my sermon I will connect “taking in” as represented by communion with “going out” as represented by the Hunger Walk. The 41st Anne Anderson Hunger Walk will follow worship.

Although we will not be commemorating it in a major way, tomorrow is also Trinity Sunday. The Trinity is a distinctive, mysterious, perplexing and amazing  Christian belief. Of the Trinity colleague Tripp Hudgins recently wrote, All I know is that to have life in the Spirit is to follow Jesus and witness the Kingdom of God with us here and now. It is to be awash in the Trinity.

I look forward to experiencing the Trinity together tomorrow.
