LABC Update – Saturday, April 9, 2022

Family,

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday/Passion Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. Our worship will begin on the front steps of the church where we will bless the Palm Crosses. We will then process into the Sanctuary singing “All Glory, Laud, and Honor.”

My sermon will have a Passion Sunday emphasis, focusing on the crucifixion of Jesus.

One appropriate response to the crucifixion is grief. In the linked article Mark Liebenow writes, as he does so well, of grief. We need to honor the anniversaries of the deaths of our loved ones, and remember what we loved about them—their silliness, their courage, their way of moving around the house, and how they cared for us—because it took us a long time to find them, and because they are still part of us.
