New Years Eve 2020
I invite your response to this opinion piece from the New York Times.
As you have the opportunity I invite you to drive or walk by the church between noon and 2:00 p.m. today for a mask-wearing, social distanced, service of communion and prayers. Your pastors will be in front of the church to greet you, say a prayer with you and give you the communion elements. I trust that this will be a meaningful way of ending the year and entrusting the year ahead to the Love of our Creator.
The Service of the Crosses, the annual remembrance of Oakland’s homicide victims from St. Columba’s Church will be on Zoom this afternoon at 3:00.
Together in Spirit will gather at 6:00 tonight for a time of scripture, prayer, memory, hope and song.
I will email a recorded New Year’s Day Message, “A Year to Move Mountains,” to the congregation tomorrow morning.
Peace,
Pastor Jim
