LABC Update – May 22, 2024

Family, Happy Wednesday. I am working my way through the Psalms, all one hundred and fifty of them, in consecutive order, writing a daily prayer from each. Below are my most recent prayers

Pastor Jim

Psalm 32:1 Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.

Forgiving One, To have no need of forgiveness would be a great gift. However, since it is a gift that does not apply to most of us, we humbly recieve your gift of daily forgiveness even as we gratefully receive our daily bread. Amen.

Psalm 33:22 May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

Holy One, Our hope is this – Though evil and injustice are persistent, only your love is eternal. Encourage us. Amen.

Psalm 34:5a Those who look to the LORD are radiant.

Ever Burning Spirit, On Pentecost 2024, help us to shine brightly, as did the witnesses of long ago. Amen.

Psalm 35:1a Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me.

Holy One, I am not saying that my will and your will are one in the same. I am simply acknowledging that you are better at not giving up than I am. Amen.

Today on LABC Zoom –  Bible Study with Pastor Jim 10:30. We will be reading the second half of Baruch. Baruch is one of the deuterocanonical/apochryphal books, writings included in the Catholic, but not the Protestant, Bible.
