LABC Update – March 14, 2022
Family,
I am sharing a letter that recently went out to our youth and their parents. Please keep the young people of our congregation, their families and our leaders who guide them, in your prayers. The pressures they face are immense.
Dear LABC Youth and Parent(s):
We hope this note finds you and family safe and well.
We need your input and participation as we seek ways to engage in ministry together in the coming year. As our church continues to move toward more in-person meetings we have been considering the same for LABC youth. As part of this process we would like to meet with the youth and parents on Saturday, March 19, 11:30 am, at the church. The purpose of this meeting (we will provide lunch) is to reconnect and also to plan.
For the time being, we will operate off of our pre-pandemic schedule with regard to Sunday morning bible study classes and youth night activities. With regard to the youth night, this is where we especially need your input as to when this will take place – and it doesn’t have to be a night time activity. Some of the other items to consider in anticipation of our meeting together besides the monthly meeting: youth activities, service projects, vacation bible camp, and the church retreat. There may be items that you have considered and we invite you to bring them up for discussion.
It has been a challenging time for each of us, yet in many ways we have found opportunities to not only survive but also to thrive. Our hope is to continue to do so in the days ahead.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you will be available and will participate on March 19. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in the coming days.
Blessings on your day and week ahead,
Pastor Carolyn, Jesus Portillo, Sheila Sims
