LABC Update – June 14, 2024

About the LABC Church Retreat Theme

The theme for the new church year (which begins in September) is introduced at the retreat in August. The new theme will be: “Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.” In ministry and caregiving do we take the time to practice self-care? It is difficult to pour from an empty vessel. In our time together at the retreat we will learn that loving and caring for ourselves is important as we learn to love and care for one another.

Vacation Bible Camp
July 15-19
8:30 am – 12 noon

Vacation Bible Camp is just one month away!  The theme for the week is “Scuba: Diving into Friendship with God,” takes us on an undersea journey. It is not too late to sign up to volunteer. We will need plenty of help to transform the church into an undersea kingdom. For a glimpse into the week,  click here to find out about one of the bible buddies, Fisher,   a seal. All Church Family Retreat at Redwood Glen
August 2-4

The dates for the all church family retreat are August 2-4, at Redwood Glen. The leader for adults will be Rev. Paul Schneider, Executive Associate Minister of Operations and Administration. Some of us had an opportunity to meet Rev. Paul last year and recently, as he continued our training in consensus decision making.  Consider joining with our church family and friends for a time of renewal in the beautiful surroundings of Redwood Glen. The theme for the retreat is: “Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.”

Redwood Glen needs lifeguards. We received notice that at this time the camp cannot guarantee a lifeguard will be in place for our event. Click here to view the announcement and pass it on to anyone who is qualified and may be interested in the position. Or if you know someone qualified who might commit to the weekend of August 2-4 if needed.
