Midweek Message

June 20, 2012

Wednesday Greetings!
I hope your week is slightly less chaotic than mine.  Roehl and I are living in boxes as we prepare to move to our new home this weekend.  Why is it that more often than not the more exciting times of our lives are also the more stressful times, and vice versa?  Whatever levels of stress and excitement your week holds, may God grant us all the strength, and the peace, to carry on.
This Sunday we will be exploring the spiritual practice of Sabbath – an important practice to embrace during both the chaotic and peaceful times in our lives.  In Genesis 2:1-3 God examples sabbath as a practice and in Exodus 20:8-11 God commands the community to keep the sabbath holy.  Embodying this practice as 21st century Christians, however, demands interpretation and application.  I hope you can join us on Sunday as we worship and explore sabbath-keeping together.
Peace,
Allison
