This coming Sunday the Lakeshore family will worship in two different locations. Some of us will be at the Church Retreat at Redwood Glen and some us will gather at LABC. Communion will be part of both services.
I will return from the retreat on Saturday evening in order to be at Lakeshore on Sunday morning. The title of my sermon will br “We Are What We Eat.” The Old Testament text is Exodus 16:2-4, 9-15 and the New Testament text is John 6: 24-35. In both texts “bread from heaven” is a central theme. As the texts describe this bread from heaven, as the faithful have experienced it in history, and as we experience it in Communion, this bread is physical and spiritual, received and given, temporal and eternal. I look forward to sharing the Bread of Heaven with you.
