What do you love about Lakeshore? What do you dream for Lakeshore?
These are important questions for us to consider as we look to the future and who we want to become in the next 5, 10, and even 20 years. Lakeshore has a strong and proud tradition of living out the gospel of our community. We have much to celebrate and much work to do to continue to build a future that is as glorious as our past.
And to love your church does not mean you don’t see room for improvement. There are always things we could do better as a congregation. The trick is to figure out which ones are worthy of our focus and energy. What is the big picture for who we want to be that allows us to focus our ministries to better serve God and love our neighbors in Oakland?
Starting in September, the congregation is going to begin a series of conversations that allow us to celebrate our past, affirm our present and voice our hopes for the future. We will consider important questions such as what is our identity, who are our neighbors, and how is God calling us to be even more than what we are?
We want everyone who cares deeply about Lakeshore to attend these conversations and share your hopes and dreams, your pride and your fears. Please join us for these conversations on September 18, October 16 and November 13, following worship.
Lakeshore is an amazing community, and we need all the voices of the community to continue to shape who we are and who we are becoming.
Peace,
Allison
