Dear Lakeshore,
I trust that your MLK Weekend was both meaningful and enjoyable. I trust that the week ahead will have just the right mix of work, rest, challenge and calm.
The Annual Meeting of LABC will be this coming Sunday after worship. I trust you will be able to attend as we remember our members and friends who died in 2014 and as we receive the Annual Report which Mary Alice so skillfully and carefully assembles for us. This will be the first Annual meeting under the leadership of our new Moderator, Leon Taylor.
On Sunday i will conclude my “Four Essential Prayers for 2015” sermon series. This week we lift up the prayer of faith found in Daniel 9:18, “When we present our petition before you, we rely not on our just deeds, but on your great mercy.” (New American Bible
The Four Essential Prayers Are:

  • Guidance  – “Teach us what we should do.”
  • Understanding –  “Is there significance to our struggle?”
  • Vision – “Let us see the good land.”
  • Faith – “Our trust is in your mercy.”
