Hunger Task Force – Hunger Walk 2024

Hunger Task Force

Every person has a right to nutritious food obtained with dignity. The LABC Hunger Task Force works to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger-free community tomorrow.

More details about the program

Since 1974, The Hunger Task Force originally developed as a ministry of Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church in Oakland, California. We are able to sustain our efforts through the continued support of members and friends of the church who have helped us raise over $500,000 to date. Every dollar goes to supporting community organizations that provide direct services to the homeless and hungry, including: LABC Food pantry, Easter Dinner Bag Distribution, School backpack program, Thanksgiving Bag distribution, Sponsor A Family, Christmas Dinner Bag distribution and LABC Fellowship Fund. Follow us on Facebook for the latest updates.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
