HOME Act passes in the Senate!
Dear Lakeshore,
With great joy I share with you that the HOME Act passed in the Senate on Monday – and with a supermajority vote (29-9)! The bill now head’s to the governor’s desk. We are finally within reach of ending double punishment for so many immigrants who get caught in the prison to detention pipeline.
A huge thank you to all who have called or emailed Governor Newsom – let’s keep reaching out to let him know it’s time to sign the HOME Act into law! Below is an updated script for reaching out to Governor Newsom – please send another email or make another phone call today!

My congregation is a proud supporter of the HOME Act, AB 1306, and I’m urging the Governor to sign this bill into law. The bill received supermajority votes in the Assembly and Senate, and is a simple fix that harmonizes broadly-supported, existing reforms to ensure equal application to immigrants and refugees. It will reunite families, strengthen communities, and fulfill the state’s commitment to addressing racial injustice and upholding our values of fairness and equality.
