February 24, 2015

Dear Lakeshore,
It is with a sense of wonder, and a tinge of regret, that we say good-bye to February and African American History Month. Thanks to all who, at every turn, made our celebration so wonderful.
March brings the themes of both Women’s History Month and Lent. On the first four Sundays of the month Pastor Tanner and I will preach a sermon series titled, “If It Doesn’t Challenge You, It Doesn’t Change You,” taken from the teachings of Jesus found in Luke 12: 1-34.
If It Doesn’t Challenge You, It Doesn’t Change You
March 1  “Putting An End To Pretending” Luke 12;1-3
March 8  “A Commitment to Confession” Luke 12:4- 12 (Pastor Tanner, Preaching)
March 15  “A Workout In the Gym of Generosity” Luke 12:13-21
March 22  “Giving Up Worry For Lent”  Luke 12:22-34
I trust you will be able to join us this Sunday as we gather at the Table of Communion.
Our Forums this month will be a series on “Living Well, Dying Well.” Our Forum guest on March 1, will be The Reverend Dr. Peter Yuichi-Clark, Director of Pastoral Care at UCSF and Professor of Pastoral Care at ABSW.
