Caring for One Another

Carolyn Matthews

December 3, 2021

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:2

Here we are in the midst of the Advent season. Our theme, “A Season of Healing and Hope,” may cause us to look around at where we are these days and maybe wonder, “where is the healing” or “where is the hope?” The hope and healing can be found in community; the times when we gather together and share in worship, prayer, study, and song.  When we take the time to remember each other in our personal times of prayer we call on healing and hope for those who need it. This is a time of anticipation and watching as we prepare to celebrate the fulfillment of the promise of salvation come to earth.  Our faith together helps us journey on in healing and hope.

I will weep when you are weeping/When you laugh, I’ll laugh with you./We will share our joy and sorrow,/Till we’ve seen this journey through./When we sing to God in heaven,/We shall find such harmony,/Born of all we’ve known together/Of Christ’s love and agony.
