Lessons Learned at Bible Camp
Every year, Vacation Bible Camp has a leadership development track. Teens and adults have a chance to pool our leadership skills and share our wisdom with one another as we problem-solve and brainstorm better ways to engage kids and share God’s love with them. Below are the top fourteen lessons we learned (and re-learned) at Bible Camp this summer:
14. There is no time limit to fun and learning
13. Sometimes you just gotta take a break
12. Don’t ask others to do something you’re not willing to do
11. When working with kids, expect the unexpected
10. Sometimes you just gotta clean it up
9. Kids (and adults) behave better when they are not hungry
8. There are times when each of us needs special attention
7. We don’t always deserve prizes for our behavior
6. Be a good role model – someone is always watching you
5. Sometimes it’s necessary to have an authoritative voice
4. Bossing others around is not leadership
3. There’s a difference between structural chaos and sheer chaos
2. It is impossible to enjoy children and not have fun!
1. Smile! It’s the easiest way to share God’s love
Peace,
Allison
