Dear LABC,
Many of us enjoyed a wonderful retreat at Redwood Glen over the weekend. There were several themes but the need to be mindful of the power of welcome and power of claiming our own strengths resonated most deeply with me. We enjoyed the leadership of Father Aidan McAleenan but after the Saturday morning session he was called away by a pastoral emergency in his parish. Pastor Tanner stepped in and brought us home in a marvelous way. (By the way – Redwood Glen is about half-way to its goal of $400,000 for a new water system.)
This coming Sunday our “Till The Work Is Done” New Orleans team will lead our worship, the Forum and afterwards Reverend Paul Keener will be serving a New Orleans style lunch.
If you have an hour to spare on Saturday please come by Albany High School  between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. and walk a few laps in the American Cancer Society Relay for life. Our participation will mean much to LABC Team Captain, Whitley Joachim,  and indeed every family in our congregation, that has been touched by cancer. This is the link to sign-up in advance.
