Midweek Message

April 9, 2019 (Week Before Palm Sunday)

April 9, 2019

Family,
It is our great honor to welcome The Right Reverend Louis Muvunyi, Bishop of Kigali (Anglican), Rwanda to Lakeshore and to the Lakeshore pulpit this coming Sunday. Please make every effort to be in worship to hear the word this internationally renowned peacemaker will bring to us. In the twenty-five years since the Rwandan genocide in which the majority Hutus murdered over 800,000 minority Tutsis in a one hundred day period, Bishop Louis has labored tirelessly to bring healing, hope and justice to his country. Dean LeAnn Flesher and a team of ABSW students learned of his work and met him while in Rwanda this past summer. They extended an invitation to him to visit ABSW, an invitation he immediately accepted. He will be our guest as part of that visit. As is our Palm Sunday tradition we will begin worship on the front steps of the church and process into the Sanctuary.
Please join us this Saturday (9:00-12:00) for a church work day as do some spring cleaning and preparing our church home for Holy Week, Easter and the ministries of spring and early summer.
As you do so well, please extend your care and support to Sheila Sims and family as they mourn the death of Sheila’s mom, Helen;  to Linda Allen as she mourns the death of her brother, Phillip; to Jessie Guiton  and family as they mourn the death of her aunt, Vivian and to Jimmie Jeffery on the death of longtime friend, Donald.
Peace,
Jim H.
