“Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:28-31 (NLT)
This has been an interesting, puzzling, odd, confusing time. Just how pro-ductive are we supposed to be while working at home? It is so easy to fall into the mindset of trying to do everything to prove productivity. How-ever, this is a time and structure that has been imposed upon us rather than a choice. This is also a stressful time. So I say, be forgiving of oneself and when all seems too much, remember the words of the prophet Isaiah.
We at Lakeshore have become creative in carrying out the ministry of Christian education. There are still some places lagging, but we have found a way for the youth to connect and have broadened opportunities for prayer times and bible study. It has given us the opportunity to put virtual meeting tools to the test and it has been working out so far. Some of these activities will continue even when we are able to be together again. In light of that, please let me know if you have been accessing the online options and what you would like to see happen in the future.
Some have asked about Vacation Bible Camp and the retreat. Those are items for further consideration. This sheltering in place can be wearying, but it is the good thing to do for all, for one another, and if we continue to trust we will be able to continue in God’s strength.
Together in Christ,
Pastor Carolyn
