Thanks to all who shared in the sacred journey from Palm Sunday through Good Friday to Easter’s resurrection. May the joy of the Easter Season (50 days!) give us time to allow the mystery and power of the resurrection to sink in. As we continue to walk in the light of Easter, I want to share some re-flections from our young adults, written for our Easter Sunrise service. May they guide us in ongoing celebration.
Breathing in Easter
breathe in Christ’s love…and release hate…
excerpts from our Easter meditation, by Whitley Joachim
breathe in hope…and release doubt…
breathe in joy…and release misery…
breathe in peace…
open your eyes to the light…and breathe it in…
He has risen…as have you…Amen.
Darkness Makes the Cross Shine Brighter
Amongst the glory that first Easter morning brought,
It was preluded by much darkness.
Darkness that makes this gift,
That much more amazing.Maybe you have to know the darkness before you can appreciate the light.
excepts from an Easter poem written by Angela Sherman
Just as jewelry looks so much brighter when displayed against its velvet Background, and the dawn is so beautiful when contrasted from the night sky,
The darkness behind the story of the cross
Makes the gift of the cross shine brighter.
Easter Blessings, as we walk the journey that leads to resurrection,
Allison
