Alternatives to Incarceration for a Safer Alameda County
Dear Lakeshore Family,
I hope you can join us next Wednesday for our Justice Jam Alternatives to Incarceration in Alameda County. This event will explore ways in which our community is impacted by mass incarceration and feature the many people working to decarcerate and humanize the criminal legal system. Our keynote speaker is Wendy Still, the Public Protection Advisor to Alameda County, and friend of Dave and Jo Robinson. A panel led by systems-impacted community leaders will follow featuring Region Lewis addressing current conditions at Santa Rita; John Jones III, Director of Re-entry and Violence Prevention Programs at Building Opportunities for Self Sufficiency, addressing re-entry programs; and Saabir Lockett, Director of Faith Alliance for a Moral Economy, addressing alternatives to incarceration. The program will include time for audience and presenters to engage in Q & A.
Please note that registration is required for this event, which will take place both in person and on zoom (you will receive the zoom link when you register).
