All Hallows Eve – October 31, 2022
Martin Luther helped change the world. On this day in 1517 he nailed (at least according to tradition) his 95 Theses (statements ) to door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, hastening the Protestant Reformation.
Luther was brave, learned and imperfect. H was a man of action as well as a man of prayer. This is prayer he offered at the beginning of each day.
“I thank you, my Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.”
Prayers for us all this week.
