"Christmas Eve Worship at Lakeshore is one of Oakland’s most enduring traditions. The service includes beautiful music, a time for children, a prayer for the season, a timely word from our pastor and the lighting of candles while we sing Silent Night."

Pastor Jim Hopkins

Christmas at Lakeshore is a time of service. Many volunteers with our Support a Family ministry gather to connect with the households of our community by offering prayers and giving gifts purchased and wrapped by members and friends of our congregation.

Our beautiful sanctuary is decorated for the Advent and Christmas seasons. The decorations will stay in place through Epiphany Sunday, January 8th when they will come down and we begin preparing for February and African-American History Month.

Christmas Eve Worship at Lakeshore is one of Oakland’s most enduring traditions. The service includes beautiful music, a time for children,  a prayer for the season, a timely word from our pastor and the lighting of candles while we sing Silent Night.

"We have an incredible music program this year which includes Christmas carols, choral music, the Lakeshore choir, and guest musicians."
